A combination of factors brought the individual members of PUNK'D together!  The love of punk music, the desire to be worshipped, the prospect of many free meals (particularly burgers), and - of course - the MONEY!

PUNK'D are based in the heart of the Black Country (Stourbridge) West Midlands, and all have "funny" accents...

Featuring founding members of vintage Birmingham punk band, The Sussed,  PUNK'D  are an explosive punk "tribute" who capture perfectly the very essence of punk itself.

Although not based on any particular band of the punk era, but with raw energy, attitude and, above all, the ability to accurately recreate the classic punk sound, PUNK'D will return you to that iconic summer of 1977 with mercilessly authentic versions of great punk tracks performed 100% live with total conviction and uncompromising enthusiasm.

PUNK’D have been stunning audiences since December 2005, both with headline shows of their own, and with hugely successful support slots for major touring bands such as the Damned, UK Subs, the Undertones, the Stranglers and the Boomtown Rats.

PUNK'D perform original tracks from the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Ruts, the Damned, the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Sham 69, the Buzzcocks and many more. In fact, the official top 30 "All Time Punk Classics" was the basis for their live set!  To keep the modern wave of punks happy, current bands such as Green Day are also acknowledged - plus there are one or two surprises in there as well! !

PUNK'D are quite unlike any other live tribute you'll ever see. Dynamic, tight, colourful, charismatic and frighteningly ugly! These guys aren't just some "Johnny-Come-Lately-Have-A-Go" cheesy tribute band! They did their time! They served their apprenticeships! They were there in 1977 valiantly being gobbed on for their country - and some of them haven't washed since!

Much of the authenticity of the PUNK'D sound can be attributed to Dave Bass (bass guitar/vocals) and Kev (Slob) Vegas (guitar/vocals) who, in 1977, were founding members of original Birmingham punk band the Sussed  As regulars of notorious punk nightclub, Birmingham Barbarellas, the Sussed were also regular support to the Killjoys (later Dexy’s Midnight Runners), and frequently performed on the same bill as Generation X, the Clash and many other well known punk bands of the time.  This all adds up to PUNK'D being just about the closest to the "real thing" you'll ever see!

Whether you're a die-hard punk or not, PUNK'D provide a live show that even the most reserved of audiences will enjoy! Great entertainment and wonderful nostalgia! Has punk matured with age? Maybe! But what the hell... It's all rock and roll...

Without doubt, the ULTIMATE tribute to classic punk!

(The Sussed were recently interviewed by Alex Ogg for inclusion in his new book, No More Hereos - A Complete History of British Punk Rock 1976 - 80  (Cherry Red Records) released 5/10/06) and feature on several PUNK compilation albums. )

Having spent over 15 years gaining a formidable reputation as an exceptional lead guitarist, Steve felt it was time to step forward and give the world that dynamic new mega-star it so desperately needed.  His desire to entertain and enthrall audiences is only outweighed by his constant craving for oral sex.

Charismatic, over-confident, witty and sickeningly good looking, Steve is adored by both men and women alike, and frequently relies on his undeniable charm to get himself out of trouble...

As well as fronting PUNK'D, Steve is in constant demand as a session musician and also freelances as a Kays catalogue body double. He also enjoys metal detecting, sailing and other water sports.

Gear used - Steve plays a Gibson Les Paul Faded Double-Cut, a Fender Telecaster, and uses Line 6 amplification.

Famous quote - "as long as I get a blowjob, I'm not bothered!"

Dave has been an ambassador of punk and, although never progressing further than a four string bass, a professional musician since the age of 16.  His decision to stick with playing bass came about when he broke the top two strings on his first guitar (a Columbus Strat copy) and never quite fathomed out how to replace them.

He is often thought to be of "limited" intelligence (thick), but he has been known to come up with occasional gems of wisdom.  Rumours persist that he actually masterminded the formation of PUNK'D, but this is strongly denied by the other members of the band.

Dave once managed to travel to London (completely unassisted) in order to stand in the same spot where Sid Vicious had once urinated.  He enjoys fishing, pot holing and winding up Jehovah Witnesses.

Gear used - Dave plays a Rickenbacker 4001, a Fender Precision Bass, and uses Peavey amplification.

Famous quote - "what's a quote?"

Slob is an old mate of Dave's - going back some 40 years!  They played in several original bands together from 1976 - 1980 and witnessed the original punk explosion as impressionable 16 year olds!

Although now a prolific songwriter, multi-faceted musician (including classically trained pianist), renowned studio producer and engineer, Slob is limited to playing rhythm guitar in PUNK'D.

It has been suggested that Steve's inflated ego - and an insistence that there be only ONE guitar hero in the band - results in Slob being kept out of the spotlight.  This, however, is completely untrue, and Slob sticks to playing rhythm simply because he is a lazy fat fuck and couldn't be arsed to work any harder than is absolutely necessary.

Slob likes beer and junk food, and gave up trying to lose weight in 1985...

Gear used - Slob plays a Gibson Les Paul Standard, a Gordon Smith Gypsy 2 and uses Marshall amplification

Famous quote - "Is super-size the biggest you've got?"

Nobody knows much about Paul, other than he's a drummer of the highest calibre, drives a red car and is always 20 minutes late!

He doesn't say much, but when he does it's usually in response to being verbally abused by Steve...

Gear used - Paul uses drums

Famous quote - "You hum it, and I'll hit it..."

In December 2008 PUNK'D announced that "the band was no more..."  257 gigs in less than 3 years had taken its toll, and the band performed for "the last time" on December 31st (new year's eve) at the Wishing Well in Bromsgrove

But time is a great healer, and money is tight...

PUNK'D ARE BACK

(They'll be doing ads for Country Life butter next!)
